Type Locality and Naming

The type section is located at Cobuza, about 70 km south of Bangkog, Tibet. It was named by Han Tonglin in 1983.


Lithology and Thickness

Volcanics. Dark purple and dark-gray altered andesites with a porphyritic texture. The phenocrysts are mainly feldspar and dark-colored minerals, generally 1−2 mm in diameter, and the larger ones may reach 10 mm. They show an unapparent directional arrangement at places, also with an amygdaloidal structure. Thickness is over 400 m
